Autumn Art - Fall and Winter Theme

Using Watercolor Paint  and/or Watercolor Pencil as our base, I’d like us to “stick our toe”  into adding an additional media or using a different support.

I  will demonstrate our subject using a typical watercolor or watercolor  pencil painting on white paper, but I will also add at least one other  new technique for depicting our subject by adding an additional media or  using tinted or colored paper as a support.

Over  the autumn and winter I’ll introduce using graphite pencils with our  traditional media, or using an ink pen, liquid artist inks, or adding  glistening metallics or other luminescent media.

I will introduce using tinted or colored paper with either dry or wet media.

As  always, I’ll demonstrate each subject using just watercolor paint or  watercolor pencil.  There will be no need to purchase any new supplies  unless you want to add something.

Our subjects will include everything from fruit, flowers, seasonal items, to birds, and other creatures.

Not  intimidating, (hopefully!) not confusing, just fun!  Please join us to  either try something new, or just enjoy some time with your preferred  media over this autumn and winter.

I’ll  use watercolor paint and also watercolor pencil in my demonstrations,  and list individual paints or pencils used on this website.

Additionally, this Autumn I’ll use the following optional media:

*a  Graphite Pencil in 2H or4H *Graphitint Watercolor Pencils by Derwent   *FW Acrylic Artist Ink by Daler Rowney  *Ink Pens—Micron Ink Pen in 01,  05, or 08 widths, depending on your preference or an Onyx .5mm micron  black pen.

*I  will also introduce using Metallic or Luminescent Media this Autumn as  an option, and will discuss them again in the Winter.  These are just  fun add-ins I’ll explain if you want to give one a try. They include:  Derwent Metallic pencils, which are water-soluble, FW Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic Inks, Winsor & Newton Iridescent Media,

and some metallic watercolor paint by Daniel Smith such as Fuchsite Genuine and Duochrome Oceanic.

Oct 13th & 27th Autumn Treasures, Holiday Possibilities

$25 for the two sessions together

I’m  demonstrating both a detailed, close-focus juniper and also much more  spontaneous-looking sketch paintings.  As well as watercolor paints and  watercolor pencils, I’ll use ink pens, graphite pencils, and Graphitint  watercolor pencils by Derwent, which combine watercolor and  water-soluble graphite pencils.

Nov 10th & 24th Combining Media - Beautiful Birds

$25 for the two classes together

We are going to combine media to draw and paint beautiful colors and patterns in birds. Along with our Watercolor Paint and  Watercolor Pencil, adding Ink Pens, Liquid Artist Inks, Graphite and dry  Colored Pencil can help convey brilliant color, definition, and texture  in feathers, faces, trees, and sky.

MEDIA

The  bulk of this project will rely on various browns and low intensity  red/orange.  I’m going to demonstrate several media options—liquid inks,  ink pen, graphite pencil, watercolor paint, and watercolor pencils.

Are you interested in a turkey demo, too?

Coming in winter: a variety of subjects with an opportunity to add  luminescent media to our watercolor pencil and watercolor pencil art.   I’ll also continue to add some additional options I introduced in the  autumn.
